in Adapted Physical Activity Studies
The University of Regina's Faculty of Physical Activity Studies invites
applications for a continuing appointment (tenure track).
Duties: Primary responsibility of the person in this position will be in
the area of Physical Activity for people with disabilities and would
compliment current faculty in the area. The successful candidate will
be expected to maintain an active program of research and scholarly
involvement, external grant procurement, undergraduate student
teaching, counseling, practicum development, graduate student teaching
and supervision as well as contributing to the continued growth of a
new graduate program. In addition the successful candidate will
participate in all aspects of the Faculty and University including
committee work, cross-disciplinary initiatives, and community service.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a related field, an active research program
and evidence of good teaching.
Level of Appointment: Assistant Professor, salary commensurate with
experience. Current range $42,694 - $59,533
Appointment Date: July 1, 2000.

The Faculty of Physical Activity Studies is a dynamic member of the

interested in working with people with disabilities is the focus of the
adapted physical activity area of concentration and will continue to be
a fundamental and important aspect of the Faculty mandate. The
opportunity exists for contribution across the continuum of
disabilities based education including adapted physical activity,
gerontology, recreation therapy, exercise therapy, etc. The candidate
who is selected will contribute to the growth and evolution of this
area. The Faculty also has administrative responsibility for all
co-curricular service programs including campus recreation, athletics,
the fitness and lifestyle centre, aquatics, and community service
programs.
Applications will be accepted until October 29, 1999, or until a
suitable candidate is identified. Submissions should include 1) a
letter of application including a description of the candidate's
research directions and teaching philosophy; 2) a curriculum vitae
which provides a description of a) research, scholarly productivity and
external funding; b) undergraduate and graduate teaching experience,
